The linguistic relationship of the Berber dialectOf Béni Boussaid in the Maghnia region

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to review all the criteria adopted to be able to decide in favor of a genetic relationship of a language to one of the language families. The Berber dialect of Beni Boussaid is no exception to the rule and has features in common with the Chamito – Semitic
languages. This resemblance is not hazardous, on the contrary the similarity affects almost all levels of analysis, namely lexical, phonetic or even grammatical. The relatedness of the Berber
dialect of Beni Boussaid to the Chamito Semitic languages is no longer disputed.
