The duality of war and peace is one of the most important topics in ancient Arab poetry, and its
presence has influenced the formation of the ignorant Arab poem, where this duality is often presented accompanied by poetic purposes such as praise, pride or satire, and therefore the study
aims to reveal the duration of the employment of this antagonistic duality in the poetic text as it seeks to clarify moral values and touch the tendency of reformist discourse accompanying the call
for peace. The second is a poem by Zuhair ibn Abi Salma, in which his call for peace is embodied,
and the study aims to answer the following problem: How is the duality of war and peace
manifested in the pre-Islamic poetic text?
