Résumé

Activating the trend towards a green economy requires sources of finance for the
investment in the various fields of green economy, which include renewable energy, sustainable water management, sustainable agriculture, sustainable transport, green
architecture, sustainable waste management, and clean production. In light of this, the study aims to examine the role of green bonds as a modern mechanism for financing
green projects in Egypt. It is evident from the study that the Egyptian policies support the transition towards a green economy in light of the sustainable development strategy:
Egypt's vision 2030 through diversification of funding sources, which include public investments in the state's investment plan, projects funded according to the Clean Development Mechanism, and financing from global environmental organizations and funds. Recently, the Egyptian government has tended to offer green bonds as a
mechanism to finance green projects.
