(In)formal logic and pragmatic approach: discourse analysis in interaction. Application todiscourse markers.

Abstract

Discourse analysis is now the subject of a vast and abundant field of study. This article aims to study the role of discourse markers in oral interactions, more particularly under an approach linking
informal and pragmatic logic, to identify the specificities in the positioning but also the functions that a discourse marker can carry in utterances. The study of various observations of classes carried out
in Vietnam at the university show that students have difficulties in understanding the role of discourse
markers in oral utterances. The results highlight a proposal for schematization to help learners
understand the positioning and the various pragmatic functions that a discourse marker can have in
oral utterances.
