Abstract

Throughout the present investigation, we will put forward the Algerian educational context as
a social reality; which is undergoing a poor pupils’ performance. This latter is submitted to and
threatened by two major phenomena as serious as: school and pupils’ failure. Moreover, why our
pupils fail in their studies? So, what is school failure in the Algerian educational context? In case
we contextualize our raising problem and try to analyze it from the following study prospects: social and cognitive perspective, this latter allows us to later on choose the method that goes with our field of study. As a conclusion, later on, we could highlight our problem that clarifies and
illuminates school failure due to teachers’ lack of pedagogical training. In fact, educational sciences are multidisciplinary, as well as they concern an explanatory controversy around the
classification of pedagogical knowledge. Those latter come from various research methods in the educational field; since, we will base ourselves on the application of a single method; which seems appropriate and effective in responding. This method allows us to answer our questions raised
from a pedagogical point of view. Called, the quantitative method; it is based on: interpretation
and description. Yet, before getting fully into our subject matter; it would be so important to explain what about this type of research in the educational field.
