Abstract

La colonisation française, par la présence militaire, a favorisé la création de l’école nouvelle et l’occupation du Tchad par une élite intellectuelle étrangère. La scolarisation en français a permis la production littéraire d’expression française. Selon des contextes littéraires et historiques particuliers, chaque genre littéraire a pu être publié par les Tchadiens. Les historiens et critiques littéraires ont dressé l’histoire de la littérature tchadienne d’expression française. Mais l’objectif de cet article est de démontrer que les œuvres des Français qui ont vécu au Tchad ont été perdues de vue. Ces œuvres ne font-elles pas partie du patrimoine tchadien ou n’ont-elles pas inspiré les écrivains tchadiens ? Après une fouille documentaire, nous estimons que ces œuvres n’ont pas manqué d’inspirer les écrivains tchadiens et doivent par conséquent faire partie de l’histoire de la littérature tchadienne. Il s’agit des écrits à caractère exotique, militaire et pédagogique ou spirituel. French colonization, by the military presence, favored the creation of the new school and the occupation of the Chad by a foreign intellectual elite. Schooling in French allowed literary production of French expression. According to particular literary and historical contexts, each literary genre could be published by Chadians. Historians and literary critics have produced the history of Chadian literature of French expression. But the purpose of this article is to show that the works of the French who lived in Chad have been lost sight of. Are these works not part of the Chadian heritage or did they not inspire Chadian writers? After a documentary search, we feel that they have not failed to inspire Chadian writers and must therefore be part of the history of Chadian literature. These are exotic, military, educational or spiritual writings.
