The role of neighborhood committees in planning local development in Algeria

Abstract

The article deals with the role of neighborhood committees in planning local
development directed to improve the conditions of the local community, and this is in light of the increasing focus of development thought on the participatory
approach and its role in dedicating local governance in order to develop the
requirements of a decent life for members of the local community. The level of
municipalities in development efforts is the basis of participatory work and development sustainability. This can only be done at the initiative of the elected municipal councils, calling on the population to organize voluntary participatory
work through the formation of local institutions with the aim of dialogue, communication and identifying problems and needs based on the priority and capabilities available to the elected municipal councils.
