Sociolinguistics - study of concept and issues

Abstract

This study aims to shed light on sociolinguistics, which is one of the most recent
and fertile sciences, and its importance due to its attempt to realize what modern linguistics has overlooked, which is the context in which language is used, as well as
knowledge of how language interacts with its surroundings? Considering the external factors that affect the use of language, the most prominent of which is society.
The sociolinguistics is concerned to study the linguistic problems that afflict peoples, especially developing ones, who live at the mercy of Diglossia, Bilingualism ,
multilingualism and other linguistic phenomena resulting from political and intellectual
conflicts that try to obliterate Her personality, and her heritage survey, and
sociolinguistics works to develop linguistic plans to preserve peoples' culture and thought
from extinction through linguistic planning.
